Opposition is just character building!
But no weapon will be able to hurt you; you will have an answer for all who accuse you. I will defend my servants and give them victory.” The Lord has spoken. Isaiah 54 : 17 (GNB) |
Chances are that at some point in your life you have faced opposition to something that you have tried to do. Maybe it was an idea that you had which was quashed, or dismissed as being impossible by those around you. Maybe you have been turned down for your third job interview in a row. Or maybe you have had a difference in opinion about something with your friends or family.
Facing opposition can be tough and can be draining both emotionally and physically. In these situations you have two choices: you can either fight on and continue with what you think is right or you can wave your white flag and admit defeat.
Hopefully this week's passage encourages you that if what you are doing is for God the best option is to fight on. Even when things seem overwhelming, and it appears that everyone around you is against you this is not the case! God has promised that when you are working for him you will be victorious, you will succeed!
One important thing to note is that the verse doesn't say "you are more likely to succeed" or "you will get victory most of the time". It says "I will defend my servants and give them victory". This statement is a certainty and is something that we can rely on.
When the devil throws obstacles our way remember this passage. Whatever these obstacles might be with Gods help we can overcome them. Whats more they you can rest assured that they will only be a temporary hindrance or diversion on the journey to our inevitable victory!
Have a great week and remember that as a servant of God you are on a journey to victory, no matter what anyone else might think.
