Where do I go from here?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way. Proverbs 3 : 5 - 6 (GNB) |
I don't know about you but I have never been a great navigator. If I am going somewhere new unless I have planned the route beforehand the chances are that I will take a wrong turn and get lost.
The reason that I get lost is because I am relying on my own understanding of the area that I am in, which for new places is of course patchy at best.
When you get lost there are several options that you have. Firstly you could continue to hunt for your destination by yourself. Unless you are particularly bad at directions you will probably roll up at your destination eventually. However your route will probably be long, winding and much more exhausting than it should have been.
The alternative would be to get directions from someone or something that knows better. Depending on your situation that might be a sat-nav, a map or even a friendly passer-by (just make sure you don't ask someone as lost as you!)
When we seek help from people or sources that know better it makes our life easier. We are able to navigate through life benefiting from their knowledge and understanding, rather than struggling on alone. The same is true when we turn to God and choose to rely on him rather than ourselves. We can listen to God's direction in many ways. Through prayer, reading the Bible and getting advice from other followers of Jesus that we know and trust. Following God's direction can help us avoid life's wrong turns, and get us safely to the place that God wants us to be.
When you are out journeying this week don't get lost, get directions from our God who always knows the right way to go. Have a great week.
